We could not confirm a non-stop flight from London to Madinah this season. If you want to start in Madinah, plan on one stop.

Some bookings show one airline's flight number on a plane another airline flies. Check your booking to see which airline actually flies you, because baggage and Zamzam rules follow that airline.

Getting to Terminal 4

The Elizabeth line and the Piccadilly line both have stations under Terminal 4 arrivals, according to TfL. Elizabeth line trains run four an hour between Terminal 4 and Abbey Wood through Canary Wharf, which suits families in Newham, Tower Hamlets and the east. Night Tube trains don't serve Terminal 4, so for a morning departure you need the first trains, a lift or a taxi.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's 1448 calendar sets the last Umrah visa issue on 09/03/2027 and the last entry into Saudi Arabia on 23/03/2027. February half term is the last school holiday that fits this season. Ramadan 1448 is expected to start around 08/02/2027, depending on the moon sighting, so a half-term trip means Ramadan crowds and Ramadan hotel prices. Nobody can tell you this far ahead how busy a given week will be. If your children are young and a parent can't walk far, Christmas is usually the calmer choice of the two. Flights are usually the biggest cost, and you book them yourself. Fares rise in half terms, at Christmas and in Ramadan, so booking months ahead tends to help. On the ground, the savings come from a hotel further from the Haram (you then use shuttles or taxis), a family or quad room instead of separate doubles, and fewer nights in Madinah.

A hotel further out is the wrong saving for some families. If a parent uses a wheelchair, each extra trip to the Haram costs time and energy, and paying for a closer hotel is often worth it. Tell us at the start if anyone needs a wheelchair, can't manage stairs or needs rest after each prayer. We pick hotels with a short walk where the budget allows, ask for rooms near the lift, and use a private car or van so nobody waits at a coach stop. A British citizen may be able to use Saudi Arabia's tourist eVisa, which allows Umrah outside the Hajj period, while a relative on a Pakistani passport may need a different visa.
