Ramadan 2027 dates
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 08/02/2027 and to last 29 or 30 days, so Eid al-Fitr is expected around 09/03/2027 or 10/03/2027. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia also sets a last date each season for entering on an Umrah visa and for leaving before Hajj. If you want to stay after Eid, ask us to check those dates for your visa before you book.
The first days, the middle or the last ten nights?
The first part of Ramadan is the least crowded and costs less. Many people seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights, so those nights are the most crowded and the most expensive. Some families split the month: Madinah in the middle, then Makkah for the last ten nights.
In the last ten nights the streets around the Haram are very busy. Getting to and from your hotel can take a long time, and cars may not be allowed into central Makkah.
Ramadan Umrah with elderly parents or children
Fasting, late-night prayers and big crowds are tiring. For elderly parents, a hotel very close to the Haram matters more in Ramadan than at any other time, so they can go back and rest between prayers. The first half of the month is calmer.
With young children, plan shorter visits to the Haram and choose a hotel they can walk back to.
Eid in Makkah or Madinah
Some families stay for Eid al-Fitr. The Eid prayer at Masjid al-Haram or the Prophet's Mosque draws very large crowds, so go early and agree a meeting point. Hotel nights around Eid are in high demand, so add them when you book.
