Short answer

Launched on 20/07/2026, it is valid for 365 days and lets you enter Saudi Arabia several times, with up to 90 days in the Kingdom in total. Every visit needs its own Nusuk service package and Umrah permit, and the visa can't be used from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah. No fee had been published by 26/10/2026.

When Saudi Arabia announced this visa, the news reports covered the headline and stopped there. They didn't explain how the 90 days are counted, what you have to do before each trip, or how the visa fits with the season's last dates. This guide works through those questions with the facts that have been published, says plainly where the official answer isn't out yet, and helps you decide whether it suits your family better than a single Umrah visa.

If you are planning a trip for next year, read this with our Umrah packages 2027 guide.

What was announced

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduced the visa, and the Saudi Press Agency reported it on 20/07/2026. Gulf News, Khaleej Times, The National and Euronews all carried the same terms:

  • The visa is valid for 365 days from the date it is issued.
  • You can enter the Kingdom more than once in that year.
  • Your total stay across all visits can't be more than 90 days.
  • For each visit you buy a service package from an approved provider on the Nusuk platform. The package can't be longer than the days you have left.
  • You need an Umrah permit from the Nusuk app before you arrive, with dates that match the package.
  • The visa is suspended when you leave and reactivated for the next visit once you meet the requirements. Your entries and exits are recorded to track the days left.
  • It can't be used to enter during the Hajj season, from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah. Gulf News and Khaleej Times give those dates. The National and Euronews say only that the visa is inactive during the Hajj season.

The ministry said the step supports Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Programme.

What hasn't been published yet

On 26/10/2026 we could not find these in any official source:

  • The visa fee. Some websites quote figures, but none cites the ministry or Nusuk. Check the price on Nusuk or with your agent before you pay. For travellers from Pakistan, a daily meal charge was also reported to be added to the visa fee; our Nusuk food voucher guide explains what is known.
  • Whether unused days carry forward. None of the reports we read says so.
  • A full eligibility list. The announcement did not limit it by nationality, but it did not list who can apply either.
  • How the season calendar applies. The 1448 calendar sets the last Umrah entry on 23/03/2027 and the last departure on 07/04/2027. The announcement did not say whether a multiple-entry visa holder can enter after those dates and before the Hajj blackout begins. Ask before you plan a visit in late Shawwal.

We will update this page when any of these are published.

How the 90 days add up

Illustration of an hourglass with white sand beside a brass ship's-wheel ornament on a wooden table.
The 90 days are one allowance for the whole year.

The 90 days are a single allowance for the whole year. Every day you spend in the Kingdom comes off it, and each package has to fit inside what is left.

Here is an example with made-up dates, so you can see how it works:

How the 90 days add up
VisitDays in Saudi ArabiaDays used so farDays left
Visa issued0090
First visit, 10 nights in Rajab111179
Second visit, 21 nights in Ramadan223357
Third visit, after the Hajj blackout154842

Two things to notice. First, count the days carefully, because a night flight can add a day at each end. The recorded entry and exit are what count. Second, the year runs from the issue date, not from your first entry, so a visa issued months before your first trip has less time left to use.

How to use it, visit by visit

The first visit

  1. Choose an approved service package on Nusuk, or ask your agent to build one. It covers the hotel, transport and other services for that trip.
  2. Submit the visa request and complete the procedures.
  3. Book your Umrah permit on the Nusuk app for a date and time inside your package. Our Nusuk app guide shows how.
  4. Travel, perform Umrah and leave before your package ends.

Every later visit

  1. Buy a new service package for the new dates, no longer than the days you have left.
  2. Get a new Umrah permit on Nusuk with matching dates.
  3. Complete the entry procedures before you travel back.

Under the announced terms every visit needs a package, even if you plan to stay with relatives. If you have family in Saudi Arabia, ask your agent how a package can be built around that.

Who it suits

Who it suits
Your planOne-year multiple-entry visaSingle Umrah visa
One trip this seasonLittle benefitUsually simpler
Two trips in one year, for example Rajab and RamadanA good fit, if the total stays within 90 daysA new visa each time
A long Ramadan stay plus a short tripWorks if the total stays within 90 daysA new visa each time
Trips that cross the Hajj seasonNot active from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah to 13 Dhul-HijjahSeason dates apply
A visit of more than 90 daysNot possibleThe stay limit also applies

It also helps people who care for parents or travel with them in stages. A son or daughter can go once with one parent and again with the other, inside the same visa year.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also said on 06/10/2025 that holders of any valid Saudi visa can perform Umrah, which includes the tourist eVisa. Eligibility depends on your nationality, so check the official visa portal. Our visa guide for UK, US and Canada residents compares that route.

The Hajj blackout and the season's last dates

The 1448 season closes before the Hajj blackout begins.

The visa is not active from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah. On the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's 1448 calendar, 30 Shawwal 1448 is 07/04/2027, so 1 Dhul-Qa'dah 1448 is expected on 08/04/2027, depending on the moon.

For ordinary Umrah visas, the 1448 season closes earlier:

The Hajj blackout and the season's last dates
MilestoneDate
Last Umrah visa issued09/03/2027
Last entry into the Kingdom23/03/2027
Last departure07/04/2027

Plan your visits inside these dates unless the ministry or your agent confirms otherwise in writing. For the season month by month, see the Umrah calendar 1448.

Ramadan and other busy times

Many families want a Ramadan visit on this visa. Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin around 08/02/2027, depending on the moon. In Ramadan 2024 the ministry said no permit is issued for a second Umrah in Ramadan, and Nusuk rejected repeat requests. Check whether the same rule applies in 1448 before you plan that visit. Read Umrah in Ramadan first, and Umrah in Rajab and Sha'ban for an earlier, calmer trip.

How Maqam e Haram helps

We plan Umrah for families from Pakistan, and we help families abroad who book for their parents. If you are thinking about this visa, we can map your visits against the 90 days and the season's dates, then build a package for each trip: hotels near the Haram and the Prophet's Mosque, transfers, the journey between Makkah and Madinah, and ziyarat. Our own team in Makkah and Madinah helps with Nusuk permits and timings on every visit.

We don't issue visas and can't promise one. The Saudi authorities decide. We make the hotel and transport bookings the application needs and help you through it. See visa information.
